Parliamentary campaign begins in Germany

Germany's major parties started their engines today in the race to control the Bundestag (Parliament), and polls show that the conservative Christian Democrat Union/Christian Social Union will shred the current Social Democratic government. If the CDU/CSU pulls off a win in the Sep. 18 elections, Germany (and the world) can say goodbye to leftist Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and hello to conservative leader ANGELA MERKEL!

Merkel would be Germany's first female chancellor, and the first chancellor from the former East Germany. It really warms my heart to see someone like Merkel come out of a repressive communist regime to become one of the foremost leaders in the democratic world.

IT IS A GREAT DAY TO BE CONSERVATIVE!

Angela Merkel
